Yes welcome to this delightful and deep New Moon (Fri 14 May at 11.04am AEST). As well as the beginning of the Moon Cycle, we have the 'flavours' of Taurus, Scorpio and lots of strong planet action. On the Mayan Calender front, we have the Serpent Moon and a few more days of the Blue Hand Wavespell to flow with. So what does all that mean in simple and practical terms? And how can we apply it to our life?

♥ SOMETHING NEW ♥
Yes, under this Moon, we all have the opportunity to begin/create something NEW. First and foremost, this energy is brought about by the New Moon phase (when the moon is invisible), which comes about 14 days after each Full Moon. The theme or characteristics of the 'new' that comes with each New Moon, is informed by the other events happening in the sky. Therefore, the rest of the information in this post, offers you clues and guidance on your 'something new'.

The Taurus energy supports social interation and the gathering of information about finances to create something ENDURING. Perhaps a NEW business collaboration? Look to the big picture for guidance about how to grow something seemingly small and insignificant into something important and valuable. Effects from planets can have you feeling like you're standing unsteadily on the edge of a cliff - you've come to the end of something and it's time to embrace the NEW opportunities and ideas coming your way. Besides you've got a great view of the big picture up there, make the most of it! Yes, stretch yourself out of your comfort zone, which holds you back from forward movement. This is a good energy to make practical and realistic decisions, but don't be too narrow-minded.

Give FORM and STRUCTURE to ideas, plans and thoughts you've been mulling over in the last month. This can be as simple as writing them down or expanding on the initial concept and bringing it to life. Now is the time to ACT. Make use of the forward momentum of this energy.

The Scorpio influence asks you to re-visit and re-work old projects that need completing. This will take Taurean effort, patience, discipline and time. A big, ongoing theme. Spiritual is different from religion today. 'Spiritual' is simply about the non-physical, non-material world, without the institutionalism - infact religion, pre-institutionalism is about this too. So.....

Current planetary action gives us a boost in sensitivity, intuition and imagination (this is what I mean by non-physical/material) urging us to connect with the Universe in a NEW way.

Scorpio energy supports us to raise our level of consciousness. From unconscious to consciousness to transcending consciousness or rebirthing. This is the spiritual evolutionary process and the energies will continue to support us as a collective during these global transitionary times. So get evolving in your own spiritual way!

Raising ones level of consciousness is more easily described as letting go of rigid thought patterns that don't seem to 'fit' anymore. In this way we heal past wounds. This letting go is KEY to the process of spiritual growth and flowing forward, especially since it synchronises with the expiry of outdated and oppressive ways of thinking and doing, that we're seeing in our world. What happens inside, happens outside, our inner world reflects our outer world. Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Yes there is a huge planerary boost providing for an accelerated advance into consciousness. See which old beliefs no longer have value and need discarding because they no longer feel true or 'right' for you. Release, release, release to make room for New Moon ideas. So this is the time to take responsibility for your reality - become accountable. The energy now makes it very possible to realise the cause of ingrained patterns, so you can begin a healing process.

In the Mayan Tzolkin Calender, we are in the Blue Hand Wavespell until 17 May. This has a strong spiritual energy and holds the theme 'Healing and Accomplishment'. So now is the time to put your hands to good use to accomplish things, yes focus on what you can achieve with your handy, healing hands. If you need a hand, don't be shy about asking. Look for Monday 17 May, a day of heightened energy which supports us to transcend through changes.

In the Mayan Moon Calender we are in Moon 11: Moon of the Serpent (Spectral Moon) 2-29 May. The theme of this Moon? 'How do I release and let go?'. So yeah, this coincides with and amplifies the Spiritual Growth theme around us now. The animal or totem connected with each Mayan Moon provides the messages and characteristics of the energy. So let's see what we can learn from the Serpent...

The Mayan People's God was a feathered Serpent, and so it is the most respected creature. This Moon is the eleventh in the calender and this 'master' number is super powerful and strongly connected with spiritual growth and awareness. This Moon is also connected to the Seven Sisters constellation (Pleiades). The Serpent comes to us as a symbol for healing, rebirth (shedding skin) and renewal. So under this Moon, recreate yourself. Leave the skin of your old Self behind and begin again. Think of how nature renews herself each Spring - remember it is all part of the cycle of life that continues on and on and on.....

♥ SENSUALITY ♥
'Sensual - relating to or gratification of the senses or the indulgence of appetite.' Macquarie Dictionary

So Taurus gifts us with this sensual energy (yum yum!). But careful because the energy can also lean us toward escapism - using food and other sensory delights. So apart from that, surround yourself in the beauty of nature (Taurus is an earth lover) and all you love and value in life. Let yourself experience joy and pleasure (yeah!). Taurus values quality, luxury and beauty - especially in nature. So now is a time to indulge in both material and natural delights.

Scorpio energy is deep, intense and emotional and is concerned with sex. Because of the powerful nature of this sign, it can go either way. So go with the flow of what feels right or true, to ensure a fulfilling experience.

♥ BODY TALK ♥
Taurus rules the overall senses of the body. It is also particularly concerned with the throat and thyroid areas. Scorpio is concerned with death/rebirth, sex/money and power/shared resources. It rules the eliminatory and sexual organs. So what does this mean?

Become aware of your body and how it talks to you. How does it react or respond to truth? falsity? What about specific words, colours, smells, ideas, topics? Listen to and value your body it is telling you stuff all the time. It is a most powerful resource.

Since Taurus rules the throat and thyroid, it's energy supports you to speak your heart-felt truth without blame. Other ways to engage this energy are to sing and/or chant. Regarding the eliminatory and sexual organs, aim to engage in healthy sexual relations. If you're familiar with kundalini or life-force meditations/exercise these are perfect to engage with this energy. Yoga, surfing, bike riding and other practices that balance your body, spirit and mind are perfect right now.
